Today is a historic day for BTRC: Chairman
BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder said, 'Today is a historic day for BTRC. Today, BTRC has received the WSIS 2021 Winners Award. Today is our day of joy and a day of great achievement. '
He thanked Brigadier General Md. Nasim, Director General of SS Division, and other members of the team, mobile operators and everyone involved in the project for this achievement.
The BTRC chief said CBVMP is a recognized project in the world. This has brought rare honors to Bangladesh. I would like to share the honor of this honor with all the people of Bangladesh and also thank the Hon'ble Prime Minister.
BTRC is working on a number of projects, the benefits of which will soon be available to customers, he said.
Although BTRC received the WSIS award for the first time today, Shyam Sundar Sikder expressed his happiness that Bangladesh has been receiving this award almost regularly since he was the Secretary of the ICT Department.
He also mentioned that BTRC has won another International Honorary Associate Award during his tenure as Secretary of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications.
The BTRC chairman said this at a press conference held at the BTRC main conference room on Tuesday afternoon on the occasion of receiving the award.
At the beginning of the press conference, BTRC Director General (Systems and Services) Brigadier General Md. Nasim Parvez briefed the media about the Central Biometric Verification Monitoring Platform or CBVMP through PowerPoint.
Engineering and Operations department Commissioner of BTRC Eng Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Legal and Licensing department Commissioner Abu Syed Dilzar Hussain, Director General (Administration) Md. Delwar Hossain, Director General (Spectrum) Brigadier General Md Shahidul Alam, Director General (E&O) Brigadier General Md Ehsanul Kabir, Director General (Legal and Licensing) Ashish Kumar Kundu, Director General (Finance, Accounts and Revenue) Engineer Md Mesbahuzzaman along with senior BTRC officials were present at this auspicious program.
